A Master’s thesis position in semiconductor modelling and technology is available at The Engineered Nano-Systems group, NBE (School of Science) at Aalto University.
Our research focuses on developing semiconductor and nano-material based energy conversion and storage technologies and devices, harnessing optoelectronics to demonstrate new optical cooling solutions, light-emitting devices, photodetectors, electrochemical storage solutions and more.
We are looking for a Master’s student to work with us on the electrical, optical, thermal and chemical modelling and characterization of semiconductors and related materials, needed for the design of a new generation of energy storage systems.
We offer a high-tech working environment, with challenging and interesting topics related to green electronics, photonics and renewable energy. In return, we would like the student to have:
• Suitable studies (theoretical or experimental) in related fields such as semiconductor science/technology, computational physics, electronics, optoelectronics, photonics or material science
• Excellent study record
• Good English & team working skills
The student will be based in Micronova, the joint microelectronics and nanotechnology research center of Aalto University and VTT, the largest cleanroom facility in northern Europe. More information about our group can be found in:
