The Department of Organisation and Entrepreneurship is part of the School of Business and Economics, one of Linnaeus University's five faculties. The School of Business and Economics offers several business administration and economics programmes at both bachelor's and master's level as well as a large number of single-subject courses. In addition, there are 1-year and 2-year master's programmes as well as third-cycle education. We offer programmes within a number of different fields like leadership, HRM, entrepreneurship, tourism, marketing, international business, economics, etc. The department has its activities in both Kalmar and Växjö.
Field of subject for the appointment: Business administration with specialisation in leadership and organisation.
Placement city: The placement is at the School of Business and Economics, the Department of Organisation and Entrepreneurship in Kalmar or Växjö. The majority of the tasks within the appointment will be carried out in the placement city, but duties may also include doing work at other cities where the university has activities.
Scope of appointment: Full-time, for an indefinite period
The appointment comprises planning, teaching and examination at first-, second-, and third-cycle level, within degree programmes and single-subject courses in leadership, organisation, and management, including HRM. The languages of tuition are Swedish and English and teaching takes place both on campus and through a web-based learning platform. Active participation in the research environment is a condition, as is the initiation and pursuit of research of relevance to the subject field. Jobs tasks also include actively applying for external research funds. Since the School of Business and Economics through Centrum för ledarskap i Småland, in addition to research on leadership and organisation, also carries out external activities within leadership development, the applicant will be expected to contribute also to this. Collaboration with other researchers within and outside the School of Business and Economics and with the surrounding community nationally and internationally is expected, as well as active participation in the department's internal and external affairs. It is important to have the ability to collaborate and be flexible in the relation to students and colleagues as well as in research environments and external relations. Great importance will be attached to the applicant's interest in participating in the daily work at the department.
Qualified for appointment as senior lecturer is a person who has demonstrated teaching expertise and been awarded a doctorate in business administration with specialisation in organisation and leadership, or has equivalent scientific experience considering the subject matter of the post and the duties it will involve.
According to the admission procedures at Linnaeus University the pedagogical skills are to refer to the planning, implementation and evaluation of teaching as well as to supervision and examination.
In order to be qualified, documented good ability to collaborate is also required.
As assessment criteria for appointment as senior lecturer, the level of skills considered a requirement to be qualified for the appointment is to be in force. The trial of the pedagogical skills is to be given as great importance as the trial of the scientific skills.
Other assessment criteria are:
Demonstrated scientific skills of relevance for leadership and organisation.
When the university is to appoint new teachers, the applicants are to be selected who, through a qualitative assessment of the whole picture regarding competence and skills, are considered to have the best qualifications for the implementation and development of the tasks in question, and for contributing to a successful development of the activities.
