The Faculty of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund University is seeking to fill the position of a
commencing as soon as possible. The successful candidate will represent the field of “Infrastructure Planning” in research and teaching.
Key research areas are the planning and the spatial effects of infrastructures in the context of current social and ecological challenges and technological developments. We are looking for a candidate with an engineering background (PhD) who works at the interface of spatial planning and sectoral planning tasks.
Candidates will have proven their expertise internationally in their research performance and publications in one of the following areas: network-based supply and disposal systems, information and communication technology, material flow and resource management. Publications in acknowledged scientific media, including those with peer-review, are expected.
Experience in raising third-party funds is expected. Experience in planning infrastructures is a plus.
Candidates must be willing to get involved in (interdisciplinary) research alliances and other collaborative projects in teaching and research, both within and outside of TU Dortmund University.
An adequate contribution to the faculty’s curriculum – in German and English - is expected. Candidates must be willing to supervise study projects.
The successful candidate will possess social and leadership skills and be willing to be involved in academic self-governance as well as implementing our diversity goals here in the Faculty of Spatial Planning.
