The Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust (SnT) invites applications from PhD candidates in the general area of computer science and computer networks.. SnT is carrying out interdisciplinary research in secure, reliable and trustworthy ICT systems and services, often in collaboration with industrial, governmental or international partners.

The successful candidates will join a strong and motivated research team lead by Prof. Radu State in order to carry out research in order to pursue a PhD on a research project done with Ripple Labs. The project aims at designing scalable and low latency protocol stacks for the Interledger protocol (https://interledger.org/). The Interledger protocol is an open protocol that allows value transfer across multiple blockchains. With the specific use case of micro-payments in mind, where each packet of data contains value, building the backbone of the new Internet of value is extremely challenging. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic PhD candidates interested in joining our team and address these challenges.
